Wall-hanging based on the 'Pierowall Stone'.
This exquisitely hand-embroidered wall-hanging based on the 'Pierowall Stone' a Neolithic carved stone found on the island of Westray. The common Neolithic design of circles and spirals lent itself to an expression of human life.
The title of this art work is taken from 'Black Elk Speaks', part of the strong heritage connection between Orkney and Native Americans as many Orcadians went out with the Hudson Bay company. Some of whom brought back Native American wives.
